Lynne Mshamu joined MSD on 22 February 2023 and is the acting Contract Compliance Manager. She is also a member of the MSD Tender Board and Chairperson of the MSD Inspection and Receiving Committee.

Before joining MSD, she worked at the Ministry of Health (MoH) in the Directorate of Pharmaceutical Services, where her primary role was supervising the formulation of guidelines for exemptions and health commodity revolving funds. She also worked as a regional pharmacist at the Dar-Es-Salaam Regional Administrative Office, managing all health supply chain issues in regional health facilities. She also worked as a district pharmacist at the Kigamboni District Executive Office, managing and overseeing supply chain matters related to health commodities in all Kigamboni District public health facilities.

Additionally, she worked at public health facilities at different levels, including Mwananyamala Regional Hospital, Vijibweni Hospital, and Kigamboni Health Centre, where she provided pharmaceutical services to clients and managed pharmaceuticals. And lastly, but not to its importance, Lynne worked with Management and Development for Health (MDH) NGO, providing health services to HIV/AIDS clients.

Lynne holds a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Mzumbe University and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Dar es Salaam, Muhimbili Campus. She is a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania and an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Tanzania (PST).

About MSD

Medical Stores Department (MSD) was established by the Act of Parliament No.13 of 1993 as an autonomous department under the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children responsible for developing, maintaining and managing an efficient and cost effective system of procurement, storage and distribution of approved medicines and medical supplies required for use by all public health facilities.
