MSD holds meeting with the Chairman of the Southern African Development Community (SADC),

The Medicines Depot (MSD) today held a key meeting with the Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), His Excellency Elias M. Magosi, who is also the Executive Secretary of SADC. The meeting was chaired by the Director General of MSD, Mavere Tukai, with the aim of strengthening regional cooperation in the health sector. During the meeting, both parties discussed joint strategies to improve access to health products within the SADC region, increase the safety of health products, as well as collaborate in the areas of production, research, and distribution of medicines. Speaking at the meeting, Mavere Tukai, the Director General of MSD, explained the institution’s commitment to collaborate with SADC member states to ensure access to quality health products at affordable prices. “We believe that through this regional collaboration, we will increase joint operational capacity, increase procurement efficiency and simplify the distribution of medicines and medical supplies to our citizens,” said Tukai. On his part, Mr. Elias M. Magosi commended MSD's efforts in ensuring quality health services in the country and explained that these achievements set a good example for other SADC member countries. “MSD has demonstrated a high level of responsibility, innovation, and professionalism—and is truly a model institution within the SADC region. We congratulate it on these achievements and we have high hopes of strengthening our partnership in bringing about positive changes in the health sector in member countries,” said Magosi
