Cold Chain Services

MSD  provides a dedicated cold chain deliveries of vaccines and other related cold chain product to over 7,095 health facilities across the country.  MSD operates as per agreed SOPs for stock receipts, packing, transportation and delivery of products to its customers. All staff working in cold chain receive comprehensive training which is updated annually or when changes occur. All our cold chain storage facilities are maintained, monitored by special computerised system and are located strategically across the country, Central Vaccine-Located at Keko Headquarters Dar-es-salaam, stores all vaccines as per MSD catalogue and others cold pharmaceuticals donated by different Partners. Central Vaccine storage feeds all other cold storages in our zones and sales points.

The Central Vaccine storage has capacity of temperature level in degree centigrade 0-8 cubic meter 550. Freezers with temperature level in degree centigrade 0-8 cubic meter 52, WiB cold room Freezers with temperature level in degree centigrade 0-8 cubic meter 282, Central Chillers with temperature level in degree centigrade 18-26 cubic meter 120. To ensure effective cold chain service delivery, MSD vehicles are supervised under validated cold chain conditions, the cold chain specialised trucks have capacity of maintaining the temparature through out the trasportation and they are monitored through trucking system.  The system enables emergency contact ability to ensure rapid response during the breakdown.
